This home, as the name suggests, is located at Lake Catamount near Steamboat Springs, Colorado and has fantastic views of the South Yampa River Valley and Walton Peak. The owners had few design directives other than that they wanted logs and wanted it to be magnificent. Our solution includes conventional framing working in concert with structural and architectural log elements like columns and trusses. The resulting house is tighter than a stacked log home, still retains the feel of large logs, and performs wildly better thermally.
