Description

These quiet boathouse designs, created in association with Foreshew Design Associates, is located in a chain of islands in the middle of Lake Joseph, in the Muskoka Lakes region of Ontario. The classic cottage vernacular of these two structures, one on the North end and one on the South, is informed by an existing historic cottage that the owners wanted to preserve.

A slightly more contemporary interpretation of the the existing cottage can be seen in the use of with ship lap siding, low slung gable forms, expressed rafters, and a glass guard rail system.
