This home is located in Aspen and was completed in 2005 on the South end of town right before you begin the climb up Independence Pass. An infill project that consists of 2 single family homes and a detached ADU (See Independence retreat and cabin) These three buildings are all within a stones throw of each other ;the lot is dead flat; and the views are up and out. This lead to pursuit of an upside down space plan, where the bedrooms are at grade and the great room, dining and kitchen are upstairs. The project features a tube steel 3 story stair, expressed timber structure, and a very open plan at the upper level. The doors and windows were manufactured in Austria and are Solid extruded bronze. A covered outdoor room with cozy sofas and a wood burning fire place connects the main level to the yard and beyond.
