Back Nine Compound

Carson City, Nevada

Description

Set at the edge of the Clear Creek Tahoe driving range, The Back Nine Compound is designed around a simple idea, the round doesn’t end on the course, a long day on Lake Tahoe, or an adventurous excursion out in the sierras. It’s a house built for what comes after, where the focus shifts from play to gathering, celebrating, and staying awhile.

At the center is a 2 story, oversized garage, equipped with a car elevator, that doubles as the social heart of the home. Designed for a serious car collection, the space is sized for a functional indoor pickleball court. It’s less about storage and more about energy, a place where things are on display and always in use.

The main living spaces open to a large elevated deck and outdoor entertaining areas that overlook the range, creating an easy flow between inside and out. Whether it’s a small group or a full house, the layout is meant to make each setting feel intimate yet inclusive.

A private owner’s wing is set apart and connected by a bridge, offering a quieter retreat while maintaining a strong connection to the rest of the compound. The separation allows the landscape to move between structures, reinforcing the idea of a campus rather than a single home.

The Back Nine Compound is ultimately about extending the day, a place where hosting comes naturally, spaces are meant to be used, and the atmosphere stays just a little more relaxed, social, and fun.
